Renewable Energy
Defining Renewable.
1.Define the parameters.
(a) renewable over what time frame?
(b) renewable at what rate? and
(c) renewed to what state?
2.Define impact.
(a) = the primary resource is renewed such that the amount of energy used is replaced
before the amount of energy remaining is exhausted.
(b) = the primary resource is renewed at a rate such that the economic and thermodynamic
cost of exploiting the resource is not inconsistent with the purpose for which the
resource is being exploited.
(c) = the primary resource is renewed to a primary state approximately equivalent to its
original state, without by-product and by processes that
remain within the values of (a) and (b)
